RFC IVF process | Initial consultation, egg retrieval, culture and transfer

From the first consultation to embryo transfer, learn about the main steps involved in RFC IVF treatment, as well as the medical care, costs and hospital arrangements that need to be confirmed at each step.

RFC IVF Treatment

RFC provides services from initial consultation and reproductive evaluation to egg retrieval, IVF/ICSI fertilization, embryo culture and transfer, with laboratory work performed in its on-site IVF laboratory.

IVF (in vitro fertilization) fertilizes the retrieved eggs and sperm in the laboratory, culture them into embryos, and then move them into the uterus. It can be used for fallopian tube factors, some male factors and other conditions that are suitable for assisted reproduction as assessed by a doctor.

AssessmentInformation such as medical history, ovarian reserve, ultrasound and semen examination are used to formulate the plan.
Drainage promotion and monitoringMedications promote follicle development, and ultrasound and hormone testing are used to observe the response.
Egg retrieval and fertilizationTransvaginal ultrasound guides egg retrieval; conventional IVF allows sperm and eggs to be cultured together, while ICSI injects a single sperm into a mature egg.
Embryo cultureThe embryos develop in the incubator, and the laboratory records fertilization and subsequent development.
Transfer or preservationTransplantable embryos are transferred or cryopreserved according to the plan; whether to perform testing and the time of transfer are decided by the clinical team.

Doctors and laboratories

Doctors Lin and Liu both communicate in Mandarin. RFC offers clinics, surgery centers and IVF laboratory services at its Irvine, Corona, Torrance and Beverly Hills locations. The patient's cycle record should list the actual monitoring, egg retrieval and transfer locations.

Egg retrieval, fertilization, blastocyst formation and obtaining a live birth are distinct stages. Embryo testing and cryopreservation transfer are not the same for every cycle, and treatment times vary with individual plans.

Costs and follow-up matters to be checked with the hospital

  • Does the quote include ICSI, anesthesia, embryo culture and subsequent transfer?
  • If embryos need to be frozen or PGT discussed, what arrangements and fees need to be confirmed separately?
  • When the cycle is adjusted, canceled or there are no embryos available, how are the related fees settled?
