RFC’s egg freezing and fertility preservation
RFC fertility preservation services include egg freezing and sperm freezing. Before egg storage, a medical history assessment, laboratory tests, and storage consent form must be completed.
Egg freezing is the cryopreservation of removed mature eggs for future thawing, fertilization and embryo transfer. Egg freezing preserves eggs, which is different from preserving fertilized embryos.

|---|---|
| Assessment | Doctors discuss expectations based on medical history, age, and ovarian reserve. |
| ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval | After drug ovarian stimulation and monitoring, the eggs are retrieved, and the mature eggs are evaluated by the laboratory. |
| Cryostorage | Freeze mature eggs and establish storage records, authorization and renewal information. |
| Future use | After egg thawing, fertilization, culture and transfer are required, which usually belong to the follow-up treatment stage. |
Preservation and future use
The preservation agreement records the sample subject, preservation period, renewal and disposal authorization. The future use of egg freezing will also include thawing, fertilization, culture and transfer.
Saving eggs does not guarantee future fertility. The age at which eggs are frozen, the number of mature eggs and the results of subsequent stages will all affect the actual chances.
Costs and follow-up matters to be checked with the hospital
- Are examination, medication, anesthesia, and freezing costs included?
- How long will the first installment be kept, and to whom will the renewal notice be sent?
- How to separately evaluate and quote future thawing, fertilization, culture and transfer?
